How Charity Bibs Work
What it is
Big marathons save some entries for charities. You get a guaranteed spot, and you raise a set amount for the charity.
How to pick a charity
Pick a cause you care about. Then check the fundraising minimum, when it's due, and whether you owe the difference if you fall short.
How much you'll raise
Each charity sets its own fundraising minimum, and it changes a lot from race to race.
- Boston Marathon: most charities ask for $10,000 to $15,000.
- London Marathon: most charities ask for £2,250 to £2,500.
